Special Friends....

Our next door neighbors are moving away (just an hour) so tonight we had Chinese for dinner, let the kids enjoy some play time together, let the men folk to their thing, and us moms hung out and played cards. It is going to be weird not having Casey, Mark, & the girls next door but we look forward to many visits from them. The kids had a good time playing together even though at times they fight like brothers and sisters do. Each one of the kids also got to hold baby Cannin the newest addition to a wonderful group we think of as our second family. Being in the military you come to think of your neighbors not only as great friends but as family. So this weekend it is like we are losing part of family but it good to know that they will not be far away. We wish them the best of luck and a safe move.

8 Inches & possibly more to come

We woke to another snow day for the boys yesterday. I went out to help Justin snow blow the driveways and by the time I had finished one drive way and on the another you could not even tell I had been there. It came steadily all day long and not to mention the sleet we had the night before. The boys went out for a bit to play yesterday but not too long. They said it was too cold and the snow was hard because to the 2 inch layer of ice on in the middle. I cleared driveways a few times that day but as the this morning it looks like I never touched them. Yuck!! I wish this would all end soon. It is also hindering our inspections. Everytime we have scheduled the propane guys to come out the weather gets bad and they call and cancel. So we are hoping to have that finished soon. The VA is suppose to be out this week as well but with the weather we are not so sure. Keep your fingers crossed!!

SNOW SNOW and more SNOW

We are now enjoying more snow and it looks like it will never end. Can anyone else say Summertime?! Because I am ready for sun, a little heat, and NO SNOW. The boys are enjoying all this snow though. They are hoping that they cancel school tomorrow so they can stay home and play in it all day. It has been snowing all day today but just enough to cover the ground. They are waiting for more snow so they can go sledding. I remember getting snow days and having snowball fights with the neighbors. And my sisters and I taking our sleds to the hill next to the tracks by our house and sliding down for hours on end. Oh to be young and carefree again. Hope everyone is staying warm!!

Inspections almost done....

Our housing inspection will be done on wednesday (finally!!) Then the VA is also suppose to be out sometime next week to do their inspections. Hopefully all goes well with that and we will be able to close the first week of March. I am ready for this whole process to be over. Keep your fingers crossed.

We have enjoyed a few days in the 40s but now it is back down in the 20s and snowing. They have enjoyed the warm days playing outside with our new neighbor. They now are unsure if they want to move since they made friends with the little boy who moved in 2 houses down. I told them that we aren't moving that far away so they will be able to visit and johnathon will be able to visit them too.

Other than that not much to report from here in Ohio. Hope all is well with everyone!!

Sledding Fun

The boys were out of school today for Martin Luther King day so they decided since it was warmer to go sledding for a bit. They had a great time and no injuries. That is always my biggest concern and I tend to worry a lot. After they were finished we had hot chocolate and watched movies. It was a wonderful vacation day but I am looking forward to them going back to school. Hopefully I will be able to get more cleaning done tomorrow!!

No news.....

We are still waiting for the water to be turned on so we can finish the rest of our inspections. Then once that is done we have to have the VA come out and do their inspection. This waiting is killing me. I want to know for sure what is going on with the house and wether we are going to be able to move in or not.

In other news.... It is FREEZING!! It has been below 0 here for the past few days and the boys have not had school. So they are driving me crazy but they are enjoying their extra vacation time. We have been drinking hot chocolate and watching movies. Owen is my movie buddy. We watched Igor, Wallace & Gromit, Wall-E, and some other cartoons. It was nice just hanging out with them both. Stay Warm!!

NO HEAT!!!

We had part of our inspections and we have found that we have no heat. So we are trying to deal with that issue. They are coming to turn the water on so we can finish our inspections tomorrow (hopefully). With the water being turned on we are hoping that things go well and we can pass that part of inspection with no major issues. Huh!! Buying a house can be so depressing and exciting all at the same time. Think happy thoughts :)

Inspection today

We have 0ur inspections this morning. I am excited to be moving through the process of buying our home but not looking forward to what the inspectors have to say. Only 6 more weeks until closeing!!
We got an inch of snow last night so i have been out shoveling snow this morning so we can make our way to the bus stop. The boys were not excited about going to school because they would have rather stayed home and played in the snow.

We signed more papers for the house last night. I am beginning to freak out a bit with this huge life altering decision. I tend to be a worrywart anyway. The boys continue to get more excited and seem to be handling the fact that they will be changing schools. We are not worried about Owen so much but Ashton had a rough start this year so we are a little worried about how he is going to handle this transition. They are still excited about picking their own rooms and have each made quite a few requests. I will update you as the process continues. Thanks for checking in!

We got it!!

We found out today that the bank accepted the offer on the house. So now the journey begins. As soon as we get some pictures of the house we will post them. Yeah!!! We are so excited. The next couple of weeks are going to be very hectic but I promise to stay up with the blog.

On a different note.... It finally snowed a bit around here today. It looks as if it is going to be snowing for the next couple of days. The boys were ecstatic but I on the other hand could have done without it. They went out after school and played until their little cheeks were red!!

we put in an offer....

We met with our realtor today and put an offer in on a house we looked at this weekend. We are hoping to know something by the close of business day on Tuesday, Jan 6th. I am excited and nervous. Trying not to get my hopes up since we already had a deal fall through. The house will need some work but it is in a good school district, close to the shopping center, and close to work. We took the boys to look at it and they were impressed so that helps. They both asked us when we got in the car if this was going to be our new house. So we are keeping our fingers crossed and we will keep you all posted.

The weekend brings more searching and if we don't find something soon we will have to sign our lease here for another year. We will keep you posted on how our search this weekend. Wish us luck and hope that we find something soon.

Ashton
Owen

Finally caught up.....

I apologize for all the posts today. I forgot about our blog page and came across it today so I decided to catch it up. I promise to keep up with from now on!! Here are of few pictures of my 2 favorite little guys in the New Year. We didn't do anything special for New Years. We hung out with our good friends. The women played Nertz in the kitchen and the men folk played Guitar Hero on the Wii. I am happy to say we made it until midnight (Ashton crashed early and Owen almost made it) to see the ball drop! Wishing everyone a happy, healthy, prosperous, and safe New Year!!

Christmas 2008

We suprised my family and came home for Christmas this year. We weren't sure wether we were going to make it their because of the weather but luckily it cooperated (some what) and we made it in time for dinner and to open presents. It was great seeing Uncle Trent, Aunt Amanda, & Aunt Amber. The boys got spoiled as usual.

Mamaw & Papaw Cupp Visit

Mamaw Leta & Papaw Chuck came to visit us in the middle of December to celebrate Christmas! We had a wonderful weekend. We took them to the Greene to see Santa & his reindeer and to pose in front of this gigantic Christmas tree. The boys got to open all their presents and were super psyched because they finally got their guitars. Now they can start a band with their Uncle Trent!

Fun @ the Greene

Ashley, Me & Casey

This Christmas season we ventured to the Greene to see the parade, Santa & his reindeer, and to just plain enjoy the Christmas season! Our good friends Ashley, Dustin, Casey, Makenna & Tessa joined us in making wonderful holiday memories!!
