Fun Friday!!

The boys are excited that today is friday because they have 2 days with no school. They are also looking forward to seeing Casey, Tessa & Makenna this weekend. They are coming to spend the night with us on Saturday so we can all visit together.

It is going to be busy weekend. We are going to be getting things ready to take to the new house Monday after we sign the papers. And to get the house ready for us to move in on Wednesday. We are excited and looking forward to getting settled in our house. Then getting the boys signed up for their new school and settled into a new routine. They are excited about moving into their new rooms but afraid that they won't have any friends. I explained that they are kids living on our street and as soon as we move in they will be able to go & meet them. Wish us luck for a smooth transition.

Outdoor fun

Today was a little warmer so the boys headed to the playground by our house. They had a great time playing with some of the boys from our neighborhood. It always looks a little rough to me but Justin said it is because I am a girl. I can't help it, I am the mom and I don't want them to get hurt. We love them to death and I am just going to have to get used to the fact that they want always want MOM around!

2 Peas in a Pod

What a handful these two can be but we would not have it any other way. As Mondays go they hopped off the bus and ran for home. They preceded to tell me how their days went and what they had for lunch (now doubt their favorite part besides recess). Then we did homework and they shot out the door like lightning to play with the neighbor boy. I have never met 2 boys that just go go go and seem to have an endless burst of energy. I am having a hard time keeping up with them and they love to tell me it is because I am old. I got them to stand still long enough to take a picture for the blog. Hope you enjoy!

Pre-Inspection

After a long lazy weekend, I am getting back in the swing of cleaning. Today is our Pre-Inspection with housing so I am not looking forward to that. Just thought I would get on here and update the blog before I start cleaning. The house countdown has begun. Only 9 more days until we are going to move into the new house. The boys are excited about getting their new rooms but not too excited about leaving their friends. I agree a little with them. I am excited about buying a new house and finally settling into our own but I will definitely miss our friends. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!!

Moving forward

Well we have the moving people coming tomorrow to take a look at how much stuff we have. The actual move dates are set for the 3rd of March thru the 5th of March. I have the pre-inspection with WPAFB housing on next Monday and then we final out of housing on March 9th. So almost everything is set. We just have to sign the papers on the house so we can enroll the boys at their new school. Things are moving through the process finally and I am finally starting to relax a bit. Now the real fun will start with packing, painting, cleaning, and moving. Wish us luck :)

Boys, Boys, Boys

So today was a busy day. I painted most of the kitchen and went through some things to get rid of stuff before the movers come. Owen had a field trip to Boonshoft Museum with his class. He said he had a great time checking everything out and playing with all the stuff there. Ashton said he had a good day too. They had some kind of races today and he said he picked his two friends to be with him. They were both feeling better today because they have been wild and crazy since they have been home. I love them to death but sometimes they get on my last nerve. Kids , you gotta love them:)

Happy Presidents Day!!

We are putting in our 30 day notice to housing and have set the closing date for March 2nd. We are so excited but dreading the move. You never realize how much stuff you accumulate until you go to move it. Luckily we are moving into a bigger house so everything will fit. I will be happy when it is all over and we are settled. I am looking forward to the boys not having to change schools anymore, not having to leave their friends behind, and we are still close to our families.

The boys and I will be celebrating Presidents day with a movie marathon!! It is cold outside so we thought it would be best to curl up on the couch together with a bowl of popcorn and watch movies. We each take a turn picking a movie to watch. Hope everyone had a great Valentine weekend and a great week.

Justin and I celebrated Valentines Day last night. He took me out for drinks & then the see the new Friday the 13th movie. We both had a wonderful time and really enjoyed the movie. I just a couple of times.

Today we took the boys to spend their gift certificates @ Buffalo Wild Wings for lunch and tonight we dinner with Dustin, Ashley, & baby Cannin before Ashley and the baby head for Texas. (Have fun Ashley I am going to miss ya around here!!) The boys are having a sleep over with their friend Travis! So it is going to be a late night around here for me!! Oh the Wind...

It has been so nice the past couple of days but tonight the wind is just horrible. It brings back the memories from the bad wind storm we got in September. Hopefully this passes without any damage. Since it started to rain after school, the boys were force to find something to do inside. We played some of their new games they got for Christmas. That is until their dad came home then they just kind of left me. They are growing up so fast it makes me long for the days that they were little again. They both are becoming so independent and more of daddies boys. I thought I would have a few more years before they would be embarrassed of me but boy was I wrong.

Almost done....

Today was a long day..... Ashton stayed home today due to a horrible cold that has kept him from sleeping, a nasty cough, and a slight fever. He has been taking medicine and resting all day as says he is ready to go back to school tomorrow. He is still upset that he had to miss today.

Owen had a great day at school and was happy to report that he has no homework. But we still have to study his Dolch words and spelling words to his surprise. He is out enjoying the warmer weather before the rain starts in.

We finished our inspections today. I am excited our process is finally over with now we are waiting to hear what the VA has to say and then on to the closing I hope. Time sure is flying by and I am definitely ready for this entire thing to be over with.

Yeah Propane!!

They finally hooked up the propane and turned on the water. The VA will be out there tomorrow! We are excited but nervous about what they are going to say. We will also be able to finish our part of the inspection. All of this waiting and not knowing is killing me. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

On a sad note, our next door neighbor moved out and has her finally inspection tomorrow (good luck Casey). We are going to miss not having them next door but look forward to lots of visits over the next year!!

Report Card Time

So we are happy to say that both boys did great on their report cards. They were so excited to bring them home and tell us all about them. We are so proud of both of them.
Owen got a free meal to Buffalo Wild Wings for getting a lot of star bucks. Star bucks are what they collect for good behavior & turning in box tops. Owen also has greatly improved in his speech class.
Ashton did a wonderful job and is right on target in his class. They did some testing last week on certain things that they have been working on thus far this year and he passed with flying colors.

On the house front..... we are waiting for the bank to get the water on in the house and set up the propane take. So the VA inspector and our inspector are waiting for that. We talked to our mortage broker today and he said this "waiting" was normal on bank homes. So now all we have to do is hurry up and wait. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Spring?!!

Anyone else ready for Springtime? It seems that missing 4 days of school last week and horrible weather has brought terrible colds to the Winter Family. We are all down and out with horrible coughs and runny noses so I may not be posting anything for a bit.

We are still waiting to hear about the house. The banks realtor fired the propane company who was suppose to be bringing out the propane tank so we can finish our inspections. So hopefully with the weather finally cooperating we will be able to finish up this week. If we do find anything out I will definitely post it! Wish us well!!
