So this weekend has flown by mostly because I slept most of Saturday. I caught Ashton's nasty cold and was in bed or on the couch for most of day Saturday and left the house just once on Sunday. (Luckily, I got the yard mowed and laundry done on friday) I am so sad because Saturday was a beautiful day and was also the first day that it did not rain. So needless to say I missed out. The boys told me they had a wonderful time playing with their friend Dylan. They rode their bikes and played with their toys all day long and were pretty exhausted by the time bedtime rolled around. Justin was busy trimming tree limbs and fixing stuff around the house. He got lots done and tomorrow we are going to finish pulling up tree stumps and trying to clean up the front yard. What a chore all of this is turning out to be. But eventually it will look the way we want it to and I know we will be happy. I am sorry that there is no pictures but like I said I was down for the count this weekend but I hope to have some new pictures posted this week. Hope you all had a great weekend!

My boys....

With Justin working nights now I find myself in the evenings with nothing to do. After dinner and homework that is. Ashton's homework goes fairly fast but it takes a little with Owen. He is still having some difficulties with his reading and spelling. He is easily upset so I try not to push him so we take it slowly and pray that I am helping him. So after that I am usually ready to relax so tonight I decided to hit the blog.

Today after school Owen got into the pool for a bit before it started storming and Ashton sat by the edge talking to him. I love to watch them together. For the most part they get along and play very well with each other. Don't get me wrong though they have their days when they could tear each others heads off. They got to spend some time with their dad before he left to work and now they are showered and playing in their rooms. I am enjoying my time alone and listening to them play.

Big Day

My tomato plants are doing well or at least the outside ones are.
Ashton said he hopes we get lots of maters because those are his
favorite things. He is my tomato eating buddy. We love us some
juicy tomatoes.

We have our garden tilled and planted finally. This morning Justin helped me get everything planted. Now we just wait and see if anything grows. I hope so because I will be so heartbroken if we did all the work for nothing.

After we finished in the garden. We hopped in the pool and pulled out branches & garden rocks. Then we moved on to vacuuming the bottom. I think we have it almost finished. We cleaned it for about 2 hours today while the boys were in school. It is a huge difference from now to when we started. In the beginning I wondered if we were ever going to see blue water.

My pepper plants are finally blooming. I was beginning to wonder if they ever would. Justin was getting antsy to because those are the only things he requested that I plant. So keep your fingers crossed that they bare peppers or I am going to have to hear it from him for the rest of my life :)

A walk through the woods

Ashton & Daddy

A beautiful little flower

2 of a kind

Yesterday while Owen played with his friend Dylan, Justin, Ashton & I took a walk on the trails that are in the woods behind our house. There is a nice path throughout. We saw lots of deer tracks and just before we headed back 2 does crossed the path in front of us. They stood in a cluster of trees just far enough in where we could see them but not able to get a very good picture. It was great exercise and I enjoy seeing Justin bond with Ashton. They walked up ahead of me the entire time just a chatting away. There were a lot of ticks so next time we will definitely spray down thoroughly with OFF!

Fun with Friends

Friday was a big day... Emilia Winfield joined the family, Ashley's Mom "Get" & Aunt Liz flew in from Texas, & Casey, the kids, & her Mom Tammy came to visit. We hade a burgers, hot dogs, chips, corn on the cob, & watermelon for dinner. Get, Liz, & Ashley all got thrown into the pool. (Thanks to Justin & Dustin that is) Tessa went off the diving board twice...she is quite the little daredevil. She and Ashton swam until their little lips were purple & their little teeth chattered but you could get them out of the water. Owen is a little fish as well. You have to practically drag him out of the water. Makenna was a little scared at first to as time went on she began to get more comfortable. We all played in the pool and had a wonderful time visiting. We look forward to many more visits.

Aww...Nature

A Doe

While I was hanging out laundry this morning, I could have swore I heard something roaming around in the woods. As I was hanging up the last pair of jeans I looked out and there she was was. She must have been standing there watching me the whole time. What a beautiful creature! I love my house!!

We are so excited!!

Ashton
Owen

Last night after school both boys swam without water wings. Owen is a great under water swimmer. He loves the diving board and is quite the little fish. Ashton doesn't like to put his head under water to swim but is really good at free style. He does really well at the back stroke. They are so pleased with themselves and so am I. I am so happy that they love to swim. Just wanted to share!

Happy Birthday Miss Emilee!!

Today is our niece Emilee's first birthday. Even though we couldn't be there to help her celebrate her special day we wanted to let everyone know we were thinking about her! Happy Birthday Emilee and we hope you got lots of great toys!! We miss you... Hugs and Kisses! Uncle Justin, Aunt Amy & cousins Owen & Ashton

Fun in the Sun

After school today the boys decided to hit the pool while I did some yard work. I am sick of pulling weeds and burning branches but I am glad to say I am almost finished. Justin is going to have to pull the rest of the rogue trees we have growing throughout the yard because my big girl muscles just wont can't pull them.

Those 2 are quite the characters and would live in the swimming pool if we let them. Owen loves the diving board and doing cannon balls. Ashton loves push Owen in but says he will swim more when the water warms up more. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

PS all of my tomato plants are budding yeah!! Come on peppers!!

Oh, Monday.....

The beginning of the week is always rough. We had a very productive weekend even though the weather was not so nice. We were hoping to work on the pool more but it was cold and yucky all weekend. Luckily by the end of this week we should be in the 80s.

We have the bar almost finished. Justin got the top put together and painted the sides with chalkboard paint. Now he just has to decide on how he wants to frame it. I have my pictures up, the boards are laid out and I have the plexi glass now we just have to cut the 2X4's so we can frame them up. I am trying to decide if I want to leave the 2x4s as is or paint them. So many decisions....so little time. Justin also got the horseshoe pit area weed whacked now he just has to find some stakes & get the horse shoes and we will be set for that.

I have a tomato plant coming up in my Pre-garden, Woo Woo!! I am so excited! I have my peppers & tomato plants going in their little buckets in a few weeks they should be ready to transfer into the garden. Our neighbor has generously allowed us to borrow his tiller so this weekend since it is finally suppose to be nice and stay that way we are going to till up a spot for our actual garden. This is my first garden so I am hoping that everything grows because I will be sooooo disappointed if it doesn't.

Have a great week!!

School Carnival

Tonight the we went to a carnival held @ the boys school. Mamaw Leta & Papaw Chuck sent them $5.00 a piece to buy tickets (Thank you!) They earned some money helping pick up sticks in the yard which they spent on tickets also. They played ring toss, the cookie walk, putt putt, hula hoop, free throw, bean bag toss but their favorite was the dunk tank. Owen kept saying that he could not wait to do it because he wanted to dunk his teacher. Sure enough with his last 4 tickets he dunked his teacher. The look on his little face was priceless. He was so excited. They got lots of candy & Ashton won at the cookie walk and he "walked" away with M&M cookies. We stayed an hour and they had a wonderful time. Then daddy took us for ice cream at cold stone afterwards. What a great way to end the week. The boys had so much fun they were both out by 9:30pm. Have a great weekend.

Bike riding fools....

Last night after dinner since it was still nice the boys headed back outside to ride their bikes. I got the camera out to try and get some pictures of the cardinals & blue jays that are always around the house. Needless to say, once I had the camera outside I did not see any birds. They are on to me, dang it :) I did however get some great pictures of my boys and a tiny squirrel that calls our pine tree home. I love my camera and taking pictures of my family. Now I need to start buying more lenses and flashes for my camera. I am thinking about taking some photography classes. Hang on world here I come.

A little Sunshine....

So the sun finally decided to show itself for a bit today and let off of the rain for awhile. My boys headed outside to shoot some hoops while I went for a walk with Chainsaw. Poor Chainsaw... I thought the walk was going to kill her. We walked almost a mile and she got home she jumped up on the back of the couch in the sun and is napping. The boys were still playing basketball so I decided it was time to get the camera back out and take some pictures of my 3 favorite guys!! Hope you enjoy!

update on the house....

Things are coming right along. We pulled up carpet in the breezeway from the living room to the sunroom. It had nice wood floors under it. The pool is blue and we can see the bottom! Woo Woo!! We have been sweeping the bottom and trying to finish getting the algea off the bottom. The basement is a working progress. We are trying to decide what to do with the bathroom down there. We have to put up drywall so we took measurement and now we need to get it ordered. We pulled apart the bar now we just have to get it put back together. I have my pictures up but have to rearrange them so I can finish the wall collage. So needless to say we have been staying busy.

The boys have been enjoying the warm weather. They have been out in the tree and playing with their friends. Few more weeks and school will be out but then they have 2 weeks of summer school. They are counting down the days until they can play all day long. They are super excited about having a big pool to play in this summer and want to invite all their friends for a pool party. So we will see how that is going to work.

Have a great week!

Happy Mothers Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. I was the first one awake this morning so I got up and made a big breakfast. We had biscuits & gravy, sausages, bacon & cheesy scrambled eggs. The kids got up shortly after I did so I got the fed before the rest of the adults woke up. The kids were happy because they all said they were starving and wanted to get back to playing. Casey & her clan stayed for a bit to visit then headed off to see Danielle before they went on home. The Wedeking trio stayed until after lunch & then headed home. We rested for a bit then Justin took the boys & I to see the new Star Trek movie. I really enjoyed it and think the boys did too. Owen didn't say a word the entire time except to ask me to pass the drink. Ashton was just excited to get movie theater popcorn. He is definitely my child :) I had a wonderful Mothers Day! I am a lucky mom for having such a wonderful family!

the gang is all here.....almost

This weekend, the "Snowberry Circle gang" got together for a little reunion for Mother's Day. Casey & her three made the trek from Marysville, Danielle (& baby Emilia whom will be joining our group shortley fingers crossed), & the Wedeking trio came to our house for some BBQ ribs, salads, Fruit & veggies, & desserts. Our new neighbors also joined us with their 3 young ones. We had a great time hanging out together & just chit chatting like we used to. Just think though possibly next week we will add another little one to our group.... Baby Emilia will be joining the ranks as the youngest member of our group. It is wonderful to see all the kids together. The older ones are very helpful & take turns holding the babies. It melts my heart seeing how much they care for one another at such a young age. I am so happy that my boys have made such good friends and know that bond will be carried throughout their lives. Justin & I too have made such wonderful friends and even though in time we will move apart the years that we have shared will never be forgotten. We are very blessed and hope our friends know how much they mean to us.
