It is funny that Friday morning we woke up to ice and snow everywhere but then by Saturday it was all gone and warm enough to be outside with no coat on. So after our trip to Lowes we came back home. I cleaned up some baby items I found and cleaned up our back porch while Justin cleaned out our gutters. We have so much work we would love to do to this house but the problem is finding the money. So we are making a list and starting with one project at a time. The boys headed outside to play of course since it was nice. I tried to get them to help me clean up the yard but that was not happening. Friends are more important. Oh to be a kid again when you had no worries but what was for dinner?!!

Lowes workshop
Yesterday morning Meegan invited us to go to Lowes with them to do a work shop with the kids. Twice a month Lowes has little workshops for the kids to build stuff. Yesterday they were suppose to make a kaleidoscope but there were not enough so Owen made a calendar & Ashton made a basketball hoop. But the good news is that we registered for next times workshop so they are guaranteed whatever they suppose to be building. It is neat. They got goggles, a little apron with their names on it and each workshop that they come to they get a badge to put on their apron. They had a great time and then we went to Burger King for lunch with the Bradys so they kids could run off some energy @ the play place and the adults could sit down and talk. It was a good start to our Saturday morning.
Happy Birthday Jane!!
Just wanted to say Happy Birthday to our favorite old lady Jane!! We love you and hope you had a wonderful birthday dinner @ her favorite restaurant Texas Road House. I sure did. Good food, Great friends what more could you ask for! Meegan made a delicious chocolate and berry cake covered in marshmellow peeps for our peep Jane. Cheri, Jamie, and I gave her items to help soothe any situation.... Chocolate, scrapbook stuff, and candles. What more could a girl ask for right?! Jane.... I know who to go to if I am in the mood for something chocolately or minty. You should have enough in your supply now to last until next years birthday!! We love you and hope you had a wonderful day!!

After the a couple hours of playing it was time to call it a night. We bbqed and the got the kids showered and ready for bed. What a great way to end the weekend :)

Rain Rain go away
Well we said goodbye to Ashley & Cannin this weekend. Her mom & cousin flew in on Wednesday to ride back to Texas with Ashley. We are going to miss them very much but glad they had a safe trip home despite the yucky weather. We had our first thunderstorm of spring on Friday. The lightning and thunder were loud and bright all night long. And it is still sprinkling as of this evening. I am happy that spring is here and I am perfectly happy that it is not snow but I quite enjoyed our few sunny warm days. We are all looking forward to many more of those. We got spoiled over the last week until Friday that is. Hope everyone had a safe and wonderful weekend!

We finally got Owen to decide on a sport to play. He is going to be playing flag football through April and May. Hopefully we can get him on his friend Rileys team which his dad is trying to be the coach. Since the weather has been so wonderful lately, Zane picked up flags, a manual, and set up cones for the boys to get out there and practice. It is so much fun to watch them out there even though it is in the front yard you would think they were playing to win a prize. For 7 year olds they take the game seriously (at least for a bit) Justin enjoys getting out there with the boys and getting dirty. I am just happy that he takes the time to spend it with his kids doing something fun and of course I am out there snapping away with my camera!
Indiana trip
Last weekend Ashley & I packed up the kids, the car, and ourselves for a trip to Indiana before she moves back to Texas. My boys drove me nuts on the drive there and home but I kind of expected it. They have so much energy and being cooped up in the car is not the best thing for them. We had a great time and it is always a treat to see my parents. Mom ended up working Saturday but we got to spend the day with my dad which was fun. We didn't want her to turn the overtime anyways having money is always a plus :) We ate some great Mexican food @ the new place across from mom & dads and of course some great Monical's bread sticks. The weekends never last enough though especially when it comes to spending time with your family!
We would like to welcome our new puppy Harley to the family. Since losing Chainsaw just before Christmas, Justin knew I was hurting and missing my baby girl and had been scanning ads for chihuahuas. He came across this ad about rescued dogs from puppy mill when he saw Harley. So he suprised me and we went and picked him up. He was timid at first but now bless his little heart has come out of his shell. He gets a long with the other dogs and follows me everywhere. We are working on pottying outside but like with any puppy that is a process. We could not be more excited.... Welcome home Harley!
Happy Birthday Jamie!
Happy 30th Birthday to Miss Jamie!! As usual we ladies love to throw a party! So we hit the party store for anything princess and pink for our gal Jamie. Then we took her out to her favorite restaurant Don Pablos! It was a wonderful time. Meegan made her favorite carrot cake with cream cheese frosting (homemade that was to die for and of course it was pink) and a chocolate raspberry cake as well. We decorated her table with pretty things and hope that we made her feel like a princess for her special day. We had some great food and some great conversation! Happy Birthday Jamie and we hope you had a great time!
Way to Go Ashton!!
Ashton had his first race the last weekend in February. The broke it up into 12 different classes. Ashton was the second to last heat to ride. Each heat was allowed a 5 minute practice, then a 3 minute practice run, and finally the races started. Each class raced twice with the second race being the one that counted. There were a few crashes in the practice slots which I did not handle well even though Ashton was not one that crashed. I guess as a mom it put in perspective that it could have been Ashton that wrecked. Ashton raced really well and has improved each time he went out. The last lap of the race he almost passed another racer to take second. Just a few seconds and he would have had it. Instead he took home third. We could not have been any prouder of our little guy. On the way home that night, he asked us if we were happy about the race and We looked at him and said as long as you tried your best and had fun that is all we cared about. It didn't matter what place he came in as long as he had fun! He just smiled and said he had a blast and then went to sleep :) He is fearless that one and we are so very proud of him! Congratulations Ashton!!
