Trick or Treating

Happy Halloween!!

The boys had a great time trick or treating tonight. The boys cleaned house on the candy front and ended up with quite a few big candy bars :) We headed across to the subdivision next to us and got lost. Justin had to ask for directions to get back to our street :) But the boys had fun and got enough candy to last for a lifetime and that is all that matters! Now I am off to settle in front of the fire with my boys and watch us some Halloween movies! Happy Halloween Everyone!!

LWC Harvest Festival

Ashton hit 2 hole in ones for a handful of Candy! He was off to a great start. They went through about 20 games to win candy and won a half a bag each of candy! Owen started the kids off in the game tent. The first 4 games he got the top prize :) He was on a roll last night! Both of the boys did well and had a wonderful time! They got popcorn, balloon toys, lots of candy, and a turn through the bouncy maze! It was a great way to spend 2 hours having fun :)

Vandalia Lions Club Parade

Matt, Taylor, Ashley, Riley, Ashton, Jonathon, Molly, & Owen

Monday night we took the kids to march in the Lions Club Parade. The kids had a blast walking from the bank down to Morton Elementary. Once they get the the school, they are ushered in by age group to walk around the gym. After a few laps local Lions Club members hand out 1st - 3rd place tickets and the kids picked then get to go to the prize table and pick something out. Owen won first place this year! Yay Owen!! He chose an Avatar book bag! Every participant gets a candy bag, donut, and juice. They kids have fun plus it allows them to wear their costume more than once which I like :)

Carving our Pumpkins

The boys finally got to carve their pumpkins. They had waited an entire week after getting them before carving them and think it just about killed them! With every thing going on and with Justin going to school they had to wait to carve them. So every night Justin came home they would beg him to help carve their pumpkins. He finally caved in Monday night and he sat down with them and helped them carve their pumpkins. Justin cut the tops and the boys dug into the guts. Then they drew on the faces and Justin carved them out for them :0) Oh Memories, How I love you!!

Owen forgot what he was suppose to do! I love the look on his face :)

Fall Flag Football Season Vandalia Rec Center 2010

Well I am sad to say that we lost our last game of the season.... Though it was a short season the boys had a great time and worked very hard. Owen had some wonderful tackles and even took a hit to the face this season! He was so very proud of his red, tender cheek! Way to Go Owen! Best of Luck next season :)

Fulton Farms

Fulton Farms was a blast. The boys enjoyed playing in the hay, running thru the corn maze, and crawling thru the straw maze. The farm wasn't running their wagon ride to pick your own pumpkin so we just had to pick one from the pile! The boys were okay with that because that meant they got to play more :) What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon!

Clifton Gorge

Meegan & I
Cheri & I

Well the ladies and I headed out to Clifton Gorge again for some exercise and some more fall photography! We were trying to get some updated group shots of all of us together since it had been awhile since we had some taken. It was a lot of fun and a lot of laughs as usual. I think we even scared some hikers while we were out there. Which I am sorry to say is not that hard when the 4 of us get together!

49ers vs. Vikings

Justin and Owen
Owen going for the interception
Owen getting ready to pull the flag for a tackle

Well it was another close game for the 49ers. They lost by 2 pts but played a hell of a game. Owen got a couple of great tackles. He was in the zone yesterday and is very good at defense. He asked his dad why he had to play defense and Justin told him that is what he was made for. He almost caught and interception as well but him and the boy the pass was intended for ran smack into each other. Owen also took an elbow to the face this game. He was so excited to show me his war wound :)

fun at the lake

here they are skipping their rocks. I am glad that Amanda was there to spend time with the boys. They love her dearly and they had such a wonderful time playing on the beach with her.

Me, Amanda, Amber, & Mom

We took Evalyn and the boys to the lake in Amber's housing complex. Evalyn enjoyed her stroller ride and the boys enjoyed hunting for things on the beach. The first day Ashton found a lure and sea shells (which is what he wanted because he wanted to add them to his collection). Owen found a pair of needle nose pliers and a handle to a bucket. The second day Ashton found a purse and Owen found a dead fish. It was a big adventure for them to hunt for the weirdest thing they could find. And eventually they both ended up in the water even though they were told not too. Aunt Amanda also taught them how to skip rocks. The 3 of them spent a good while seeing who could skip it the most times. Mom and Amber walked around the parking lot because Aunt Amber was excited about getting out of the house too.

Visiting Amber & Landon

This weekend we went to my sisters to see them and my new niece Evalyn! She is so adorable and so very tiny. She has a full head of black hair, long little feet and hands, and has such a wonderful temperament. She never fussed unless she was hungry or need a diaper change. We all got to love on her and hold her. Ashton was so great with her and he loved to hold her all the time. Owen was great with her as well but the first time he held her she cried (it was right before feeding time) so he was a bit leery. It was so great seeing them but it makes me sad that we don't live closer so I could go and see her everyday.

Englewood Metro Park

I love this bridge even though it was very scary to walk on. The boards seemed to be pretty wobbly and starting to rot away.
This was the biggest orange tree that we found at the park

Meegan, Jane, & I went to Englewood Metro Park to check out the fall photography opportunities. This year it seems as if the leaves for the most part went from green to dead on the ground. We were able to photograph a few that have changed to the pretty yellows, oranges, and reds. I think the vibrant orange and reds are my favorite. They of course are the hardest ones to find this year! Enjoy the pictures because I sure enjoyed getting out looking for them!

Halloween Camping

One of the things we had for the kids to do was bobbing for apples. They had a great time trying to get their apple out of the bucket. It was so hilarious to see how each one of the kids attempted it. Some of them were practically laying on the bottom of the bucket trying to get this apple out. Plus, they were excited about getting wet. It ended up in the 80s so they welcomed the cold water.
The kids also got a pair of gloves to decorate with some googly eyes or jewels. Then they could draw a face on it with glow in the dark markers. I think each pair of gloves was different. They all had a unique pair! Lots of creativity with this bunch of kids. They also got a Halloween magnet to color in with markers and a pumpkin frame to make. We sprayed color in their hair and Taylor painted their faces for the photo to put in their frame.
This is a game called poopin potatoes. We divided the teams up into boys verse girls. Each team gets a potatoe and he have grab the potatoe with your butt and walk it down to the bucket and poop it in. If you drop it along the way, you must pick it up and start back at the starting line. This by far was the most hilarious game. It looked like everyone had to potty real bad as they are walking down to the bucket to release this potatoe. Thanks to Lori for teaching us this game!! It was so much fun!
This is all the people that went camping with us! We had 13 kids and 13 adults plus 4 dogs. So needless to say we had tons of fun! Thanks to all that families that were able to join us and make some really wonderful memories!

Welcoming Evalyn to the family

Congratulations to Amber and Landon on the birth of their first child. We are so very happy for them and can't be more excited to meet Evalyn. She is adorable. Dad, Mom and baby are doing well! Congrats again Hinton Family!!

49ers vs. Eagles

Unfortunately Owen was unable to make it to this game because he was sick. Justin went to coach and said that the kids were just not into it. They got beat pretty bad from what I hear. It was so cold and only a few of the kids were doing what they were suppose to do. Everyone was freezing and frustrated so it was not a good time. So I am sorry to say it was another loss for the 49ers. Better luck next time.

Happy Birthday Riley

Riley had a football birthday theme this year! Meegan as always threw a wonderful party. They had all kinds of games for the kids to do, great food and an awesome cake. The boys had a wonderful time and played real hard. Riley got tons of stuff for his birthday so he was real happy.

Justin and I stayed at the party for awhile then we went out for a CACI function. One of the departments where he works got a very prestigious award so they had a party at the Knights table bar and grill. I got to try some good beer and had the best bar food I have ever tasted. Justin drank some beer that was 10.5% alcohol by volume that was $17 a bottle. Thank goodness CACI picked up the tab :) They had tons of beer to try.
