Fun in the Sun

Well over the past week the boys have made it in the pool everyday for a bit while the skies are clear. But it seems like after a half hour the sun disappears and out comes the storm clouds. Don't get me wrong I am glad that they get to enjoy the pool and I am enjoying the cool weather but really with the rain?! I could stop any day now just for a couple of days so we can enjoy the sun but not so much the heat :) Upper 70s Low 80s will do fine for me

June 12 Happy Birthday Owen

Happy 9th birthday Owen. We love you very much and we hope that you got everything that you wanted. Owen loves his legos and boy did he get tons of them. As he finishes them I will try to post some pictures of them. He also finally got Little big Planet 2 which he has wanted forever. Owen picked out a Tron legacy cupcake cake this year for his birthday. I think he just wanted the tron bike that you get on the cake but if that is what makes him happy I am all for it. I wanted to say a big thanks to all our family that came here for the party and helped me out since I am still on crutches. I appreciate all the help that you all have given me and I couldn't have put this party together without all of you. Thanks again for the help and for all of Owens gifts. He loves everything!!

Owen's Hip Hop Dance Recital

Great Job Owen, Matt, & Riley! Great Job Taylor & Ashley! This weekend the kids had their dance recital that they have been practicing for all year long. They did an awesome job and we enjoyed their show very much. Owen did so wonderful but bless his little heart he has my rhythm which is to say not very much. But he danced his heart out and that is all that matters. Besides he had a blast getting out there with his friends and showing us their moves. Way to go guys and we look forward to seeing your progress next year as well :)

Today we had a huge thunderstorm come thru Ohio. We had flash flood and hail warning for almost 2 hours. One minute it was thunder and lightning out then the next it was a huge downpour. You could barely see off our back porch. Our back yard looked like we had two pools and a small river in it. The front had a small river that was flooding into the streets. It was pretty bad for about 2 hours and then poof it was done. I guess we are making up for the nonexistent rain we had last year.

June 6

Owen jumping off the board and trying to sit on his surf board. He managed to sit on it for just a second before it shot out from under his butt. Then he attempted to try and stand on it in the deep end. He managed to stay up for a few second but then Ashton jumped in next to him and knocked him off of his board.

Ashton working on his dive off the board. He practiced his dives and front flip for almost 2 hours that day. He can do an awesome front flip but he keeps separating his feet on his dive. So he is going to keep working on it until he can get it right :) He wants to be on the swim team when he gets older. He is too funny because he is trying to perfect all his swim techniques.

June 4

Pool Fun

The boys were so excited that summer vacation has officially started (although they have 3 weeks of summer school to do) They have spent the first entire weekend of their summer break in the swimming pool. They are quite the little fishes. Ashton has learned how to do a front flip off the diving board and Owen has mastered his dive off the diving board. I can't believe how much they have grown over this past year. They needed all new swim trunks and new goggles. They also are happy that they can now use their surf boards that Aunt Amanda and Uncle Trent bought for them last fall. Happy Summer and Everyone stay safe :)

June 3

Yay for the last day of school! Good bye Second grade and Hello to Third grade. I can't believe that they will be in Third grade next year. My how time has just flown right by. The boys are so excited....they were up and ready to go early this morning. They have spent the last two weeks counting down to this day. They are looking forward to staying up late and sleeping in. Now comes 3 weeks of summer school for reading while I am in physical therapy, birthday parties, camping adventures, and hopefully me getting rid of my crutches. Looking forward to a great summer filled with family and fun :) I promise to post pictures from our many adventures! Have a great summer everyone and stay safe.

June 2

Today I got my stitches out and a new brace. My leg is killing me now because the brace has a metal bar that is holding my knee in its place while the stitches holding my muscles together heal. My first physical therapy appointment is next Wednesday and I am totally not looking forward to that. I will have about 5 weeks worth of appointments coming my way. Here comes the pain but hopefully I will get full mobility back :) I will post pictures of the new brace later.... off to rest and ice my knee!
