April 12th Taylorsville Metro Park

After Justin came home from work we headed off to the Metro park to do some more fishing. This time we went on the other side a the dam but I think we should have stayed where were orginally. The water was moving a bit too fast and we had no way to move farther down the bank without getting out shoes wet. Unfortunately it was not warm enough to walk through the water so we were stuck where we were. It was still a nice enough day even though nothing was caught. The boys had a good time and we were together so that is all that matters

March 9th Fishing

We went fishing today and Ashton was the only who caught a fish. Owen had a few bites but nothing panned out. Justin was just excited to use his new fishing pole that my parents bought him for this birthday. It was nice to spend the day together and have some fun.

April 8th Easter with Mamaw Leta & Papa Chuck

Mamaw and Papaw stopped by our house on their way back home to Indiana. They spent an hour or so hanging out and visiting before getting back on the road. It was great to see them and we will have to make a trip home soon.

April 7th Easter with Grammy Cindy & Papa Bill

Justin and dad playing a game of ladderball
My parents came to stay with us Easter weekend. On friday we just hung out and watched a movie since they didn't get here until 8pm. Saturday the boys opened their Easter baskets, we colored eggs, played ladderball and shot the bows. We had a great time spending the day together. Thank goodness it warmed out enough outside so we could enjoy ourselves.

April 6th

Me shooting my bow for the first time in years
Justin taking aim with his bow!
Owen shooting some hoops. This kid is hilarious. If you make him laugh he misses his shots so needless to say we keep cracking jokes so he can't make his shots. Luckily he is a good sport about it :)
My little climber. This child will be the death of me I am sure. He knows no fear. Here he is posing for a picture while he is climbing one of the trees in our back yard.

April 5th family time

So today we hung out at the house playing basketball all day after school that is. It was such a great day. No one fought and we spent time together as a family! Those 3 people are very special to me and any time spent with them is a blessing.

April 4th Deer

So as I walked into the office today I saw something move at the our fence and to my surprise the deer are back. 3 doughs were out there feeding and just hanging out by our fence. I was so excited that I had to get the camera and take some pictures :) I love that our house backs up the a wooded area!!

April 3rd

Just wanted to share some pictures of my 2 favorite boys! They melt my heart and I am so happy to call them mine! They surprise me everyday and I couldn't imagine life without them!!

April 1st New Shades

Ashton showing off his new shades that Justin bought him at the outlet mall
Owen showing off his new shades that Justin bought him

We went to Bass Pro shop in Cinncinati today so Justin could get some new arrows and some fishing equipment. Owen hung out at the fish tanks spotting all the fish. Then he took us to dinner at the Spaghetti factory. On the way home we stopped by Ikea because Justin had never been there and I bought some lanterns for the back patio. Then we decided to stop by the outlet mall just to check it out. Justin found some great deals on shoes and the boys got new sunglasses and a pair of shoes. It was a great day spent as a family!

March 24th Rawhide Ranch/Brown County State Park

We had our annual trip to Rawhide Ranch and Brown county State Park. We had a good time. Lots of shopping, photos, and drinks although we didn't drink as much as we usually do we had a blast just hanging out together. I think we were all just so happy to be away to relax that we caught up on sleep and mellowed out :) Thanks again to Meegan for planning a great trip. Hopefully next one I feel better.

March 23rd J & J winery

On our way to our girls getaway we stopped at J&J winery to sample some wines! I woke up not feeling well so that sort of bummed me out. I felt a little better as the weekend went on but then ended up with poison ivy. So needless to say I should have stayed home and stayed in bed but I had a great time anyway. We also celebrated Crazy Jane's birthday! Happy Birthday to a wonderful lady! Love ya Jane and I am so glad that we could all be together for your birthday!

March 20th Family read night

Meegan and I volunteered to help out at the Family Read Night. Our theme was the Lorax and going green. We pulled together some donations. Each child that came that night sign his name and got to put it in for the drawing. Walmart gave us seeds to hand out to the kids and Texas Roadhouse gave the kids free kids meals. We had a wonderful turn out and the everyone seemed to have a great time. A big Thanks to all the staff that read to the students and helped make this possible.

March 18th Basketball is our new favorite pasttime

March 17th Shadows

Just thought I would share these. I was having fun taking pictures of the boys shadows then messing with the colors! Enjoy

March 16th More Basketball

Owen taking a drink break!
Ashton doing his bounce in shot. That kid used this shot twice in our game of pig which I ended up losing because I can't make it.
Love this smile!! He played a quick game of pig with the boys before he headed off to work :)

March 15th

Tonight was the boys music recital. It was so cute and I am so proud of the both of them. Owen had a small part as a mouse in one of the stories. Unfortunately he moved so quick across the stage that he was blurry in all the pictures. We have it on video though so we will cherish forever! Way to go Owen and Ashton! You were wonderful!!

March 13th Basketball is fun

It was nice out today so Justin went out and played horse with the boys. I even played a couple of games with them then decided I better break out the camera and take some photos. Since I am sure in a couple of years we won't be cool enough to hang out with. Justin and I are enjoying every minute of these two. Their personalities are shining through and they are growing up too fast:)

March 11th cleaning the roof

Justin climbed up on the roof today to clean off the leaves and guess who had to join him....my boys. They were so excited to get up on the roof while on the other hand I was freaking out. But while they were up there they had to help clean the gutters and get the sticks off the roof. They had a blast :) Oh how the little things are exciting when your kid.... then you grow up and it is not so fun anymore. Just another thing to tick off your list of chores!

March 2nd Owens Art/ Happy Birthday Papa Bill

So in art class Owen was asked to draw a picture of what makes him mad. According to his picture I make him do his homework while Ashton gets to watch tv and that really makes him mad. So as you can see I am a mean mom :) I would to point out that I do make Ashton do homework but he does not have as much as Owen.
Also I want to wish my Dad a wonderful and happy birthday. We miss you and can't wait to see you for Easter. Happy Birthday to Grandpa Coke as well. We love and miss you so much. I wish you were here to meet your great grandchildren but know that you are always in our hearts!

February 26th Good times

Ashton headed outside today to skate in the driveway. I have to admit for never doing it before he did well. He only fell once which for him is good. Unfortunately he is as graceful as his Grammy Cindy :) He just zoomed up and down the driveway. I love this kid... he just jumps right in and is not afraid to try new things.
Justin took me to Mendlesons today and I bought me some new shadow boxes. They are made from old wood bins that were used to hold parts! I also made the sign out of an old piece of wood we found floating in the river. I love old wood!

February 19th Baseball w/dad before work

Before Justin headed off to work he threw some pitches to the boys. I love that he always takes time out to spend time with them. He is so busy with work and school but he always makes time to do something with them each day. They are always playing baseball, basketball or something outside :) I am so proud of the man he has become and all the things he has done for us as a family. I just hope he knows how much that he means to us!
